The Tradition Golf Course at Stillwaters –a par 72 18-hole course open to the public, with a state of the art practice facility, rated four stars by Golf Digest in 1999.
 
Camp ASCCA – a nationally recognized therapeutic recreation area for children and adults with physical or intellectual disabilities; weekend and weeklong sessions available year round.
 
Holly Hills Trail – a natural habitat for a wide variety of birds; abundant viewing opportunities
 
Wind Creek State Park – 1,445 acres along the shore with a fully equipped modern campground (256-329-0845)
 
Dixie Sailing Club – private club hosting Saturday racing events from March until November and regattas in the Spring and Fall.
 
Willow Point Country Club – a private club located on the edge of the lake, offering a fitness center, swimming pool and sandy beach, tennis, boating, and fishing; available for special events.
 
Cherokee Ridge Alpine Trail – 11 miles of footpath only hiking trails along the southeastern shore; bald eagles, wild turkeys, and other birds are abundant.
 
Piedmont Plateau Birding Trail – includes seven sites on and around Lake Martin where waterfowl and bald eagles can be found.
 
Horseshoe Bend National Military Park – a 2,040-acre park dedicated to the battle of Horseshoe Bend on March 27, 1814; excellent birding opportunities.
